Overview & Purpose

  • Tipton Community School Corporation (TCSC) is expanding virtual options for 2023-2024. TCSC will offer three options: Tipton Virtual Academy (TVA), Tipton Virtual Academy Plus (TVA+), and Tipton Virtual Academy Hybrid (TVAH). Each program offers different opportunities, so if you're interested, you can learn more about them on their designated pages.

The purpose of the Tipton Virtual Academies is to provide students with the most appropriate platform for instruction as possible. TCSC firmly believes that the best learning experience for most students is in-person through engaging lessons and peer interactions. However, students may have unique needs or circumstances that may prevent them from taking full advantage of the rich learning experiences offered on campus. For these unique situations, TCSC is proud to offer these virtual learning opportunities to support all learners.

Requirements

  • A student may be offered a virtual learning opportunity if that student is in good academic standing, has demonstrated academic achievement and exhibited good attendance, OR provides credible documentation from a professional stating a virtual option is in the best interest of the student.  Each individual request will be reviewed by TCSC administration and staff to determine the appropriate academic placement.

Students must have a reliable internet connection to participate in this program. TCSC is partnering with EdOptions Academy, Indiana Online Academy, and Edmentum, a completely accredited virtual school, to meet the needs of virtual students.

Families may apply to have their child enrolled in the Virtual Academy through the link below:

Extracurriculars

  • Interested in attending one of the Tipton Virtual Academies, but concerned you'll miss out on extracurriculars? No need to worry. Tipton Virtual Academy Plus (TVA+) and Tipton Virtual Academy Hybrid (TVAH) both allow you to have the best of both worlds--a great virtual education, and in-person extracurricular experiences. Read about each of the programs to find out more!

Important Notice

  • If a student is coded “In-Attendance Virtual” for 50% or more of one semester of High School, please note that they will not be eligible for Top 10 or Valedictorian/Salutatorian honors.
