Kindergarten students are often excited about beginning school--they look forward to experiencing new things and making new friends. Despite their young age, kindergarten students still learn valuable information on a day-to-day basis. This knowledge provides a solid foundation upon which other skills may build.

In Science, students learn about seasons, habitats, and life cycles; they also learn about insects and animals. Reading shows kindergartners identifying letters and sight words, understanding words, and rhyming. Kindergarten-level math involves teaching students to recognize numbers, add, subtract, and identify 2D and 3D shapes. In Social Studies, students learn about rules, weather, seasons, environment, maps, and community. Kindergarten students learn writing skills as well--like letter identification, capitalization, punctuation, and types of sentences.
