Our District

At the heart of Tipton Community School Corporation—serving approximately 1,400 students and 964 families—we celebrate the unique strengths, backgrounds, and values that make our district special. Rooted in the agricultural heritage of Tipton and known for our tradition of athletic and academic excellence, we take pride in offering a well-rounded educational experience in a supportive, small-town environment.

Our size allows us to provide individualized support while still offering the robust opportunities of a larger district. Students at Tipton High School have access to Advanced Placement (AP) courses; dual credit opportunities through Indiana University and Ivy Tech; and a full array of Career & Technical Education (CTE) courses offered both on campus and through our partnership with Hinds Career Center. These CTE programs include health sciences, agriculture, business, construction trades, criminal justice, welding, advanced manufacturing, information technology, education careers, and more—giving students hands-on experiences and industry-recognized credentials aligned with real-world careers.

In addition, students can participate in a wide range of student clubs and a full offering of athletic programs. A complete Tipton High School Course Catalog is available online to highlight the depth and variety of these learning opportunities.

Tipton schools have consistently earned strong recognition, including top rankings from U.S. News & World Report and high performance ratings from GreatSchools, reflecting our commitment to academic growth, high standards, and student success.

Our 2024–2027 Strategic Plan outlines three clear priorities that guide our work:

  • Student Achievement: Ensuring all students grow and succeed through consistent attendance and active engagement. By 2026–2027, each school will meet its academic improvement goals, with at least 80% of students attending 94% or more of the school year.
  • Professional Learning Experiences: Supporting staff through meaningful training grounded in evidence-based practices. All professional staff will complete 50 hours of professional development annually and receive formal feedback aligned with “The Tipton Way”—a shared culture built on professionalism, grace, and a student-first mindset.
  • Communication: Strengthening connections with families and the broader community through advisory committees and regularly celebrating the accomplishments of our students and staff.

What truly sets TCSC apart is our hometown, family-like atmosphere—where every student is known, supported, and empowered to thrive. When they graduate, they leave prepared for college, career, or military service—ready to face the future with confidence, rain or shine.
