Tipton Community School Corporation: Respect the Past, Embrace the Future

Tipton Community School Corporation (TCSC) is a growing, progressive public school system that has been a pillar of primary and secondary education in Tipton for nearly 150 years. It has earned a respected reputation for inclusiveness, a welcoming and engaging learning environment and preparation for post-secondary success. Incorporated on January 1, 1965, TCSC roots date back to the early 1870s. The Class of 2022 represented Tipton High School’s 145th graduating class.

The school district spans 160 square miles and serves residents of Cicero, Madison, and Jefferson Townships. It is within a 50-minute drive south to Indianapolis and 30 minutes north to Kokomo. With nearly/over 200 employees, TCSC is one of the county’s largest employers. All Tipton schools are accredited by Cognia. TCSC is certified as a Digital Citizenship School.

TCSC is comprised of three separate buildings housed under one roof along SR 19 on the south end of the city. Its multi-sport athletic complex, auditorium with orchestra pit, five-acre nature center, planetarium, welding shop, and soon, a more than 3,000-foot state-of-the-art greenhouse, all nestled on its 117-acre campus. A hub of activity throughout the year, TCSC is an essential part of the quality of life in Tipton.

TCSC offers a competitive varsity athletics, highly recognized agriculture and FFA program, award-winning performing arts (band, choir, theater) and offers more than 40 extra-curricular activities and student-inspired clubs. In fact, more than three-fourths of its student body participate in Blue Devil sports and extra-curricular activities.

The corporation is currently undergoing a transformation inside and out, investing $28 million dollars on improvement projects throughout its campus. These upgrades will bring the district state-of-the-art facilities, 21st century learning spaces, and technology designed to advance student achievement while maximizing operational efficiencies. These enhancements are examples of the community’s tax dollars at work and will create optimal learning and teaching environments for TCSC students and staff now and well into the future. The project, the corporation’s most significant building and grounds investment in the past 25 years, signals an exciting and bright future for TCSC.
