Tipton High School students and staff have a new creative space to work. In January, with the help of a grant from the Tipton County Foundation, work began to transform a vacant room located on the high school balcony into a place where students could work collaboratively, make group presentations, do their homework, or just sit and read a book. In addition to comfortable seating areas, the room contains stations where students can project their computer images on television screens facilitating better group collaboration. Students are excited to have a bright, contemporary work environment, which includes graffiti art created by a local Tipton County artist. The SSC is also open to staff for professional development and meetings. Future plans for the center is to staff it with peer tutors where students can go to receive extra help. Next time you are in the high school, make sure to stop by and see the exiting things happening at THS. Thank you again to the Tipton County Foundation for making it possible.
