51 students from the Class of 2019 spent 4 days traveling to and touring New York City May 3rd - 6th. While in the city, students visited Central Park where they saw Strawberry Fields and other notable sites. Later in the day, the group went to Broadway and watched King Kong, which was amazing. The trip was also filled with a ride to the top of the Empire State Building, South Street Seaport, where they took a ferry around the Statue of Liberty and saw various sites of NY and NJ. They enjoyed the food and sharpening their negotiating skills in Chinatown and Little Italy and we cannot forget the Bull on Wall Street. Seniors were able to walk around the 911 memorial or what is known as Ground Zero and One World Trade Center. Some were able to visit Ladder 10, the firehouse located across from Ground Zero and meet one of NYC's finest. It was an experience they will never forget. Students experienced many "firsts" while in the city such as hot dog vendors, waffle trucks, real NY style pizza, homemade pasta, cannolis and gelato, and authentic Chinatown food. YUM! Not only did they learn a lot, but the experience and time spent building relationships is one that they will never forget.
