Academics
At TCSC, we are committed to academic excellence and continuous improvement. One way we support this commitment is through curriculum adoption committees that ensure transparency, collaboration, and informed decision-making when selecting instructional materials.
The adoption process spans approximately six months and includes committees at each school composed of teachers, administrators, technology staff, and parents. These committees create evaluation rubrics, attend textbook caravans, and provide structured feedback. Each group votes on the resource they believe best fits student and staff needs, then makes a recommendation to the school board.
After adoption, teachers develop scope and sequence documents aligned to Indiana Academic Standards. These are reviewed by school administrators and approved annually by the TCSC School Board, providing parents and guardians with transparency into what students are learning.
TCSC also offers a K–12 High Ability program that provides enriched and accelerated learning, supported by trained educators. In addition, our virtual academies at both the elementary and secondary levels offer flexible learning options to meet the diverse needs of students and families.
At the high school level, students benefit from Indiana’s Graduation Pathways, which offer multiple routes to earning a diploma through academic coursework, technical training, and real-world experiences. These pathways are designed to prepare students for enrollment, employment, and/or enlistment after graduation.
To support these opportunities, Tipton High School offers a broad range of courses, including AP, dual credit, career and technical education, fine arts, and specialized electives. A complete Tipton High School Course Catalog is available for review, highlighting the depth and diversity of our curricular offerings.
TCSC remains committed to providing high-quality, student-centered learning opportunities that prepare all students for future success.
