Survey about Technology Use

Tipton Community School Corporation is participating in a survey that gives our stakeholders (staff, students, parents, and community members) an opportunity to share their viewpoints about key educational issues, particularly concerning digital learning and the use of technology to support schools. Each year, findings are summarized and shared with national and state policymakers. Tipton schools will be able to access our local data online.  The survey is available from now until January 13.  The results will be available in February of 2017.

TCSC is looking forward to the response of our community on this topic.  Parents and community members of Tipton are encouraged to complete the survey by going to http://www.speakup4schools.org/speakup2016/.

Smart Steps Parent Information Meeting for KDG., 2nd, & 4th grade.

Tipton Elementary School is partnering with Chaucie’s Place, a child advocacy organization based in Hamilton County, to bring Smart Steps to our: kindergarten, 2nd, & 4th grade students.

We will host a Parent Information Meeting on Novermber 30 from 6:00pm - 7:00pm in the TES Community Room.  The 30 minute classroom lessons will be on December 13th.

Smart Steps: A Body Safety Program for Children™ is a prevention and education program that teaches elementary school-aged children that their bodies belong to them, it is okay to say "NO!" to unwanted touches from anyone, to tell a trusted adult, and abuse is never their fault.

The Parent Information Meeting will feature a video of an actual classroom lesson from a few years ago, along with handouts about the program.  Parents/Guardians are able to opt their student out of the lesson by submitting the "Opt Out" paper that will be sent home the week of December 5th.

For more information visit www.chauciesplace.org and look under the "Prevention Programs" tab.  Or contact Mr. Friedle: bfriedle@tcsc.k12.in.us or 675-7397 ext. 434.
