Tipton Community School Corporation is accredited by AdvancED, a national organization that has established a set of rigorous and research-based processes for evaluating schools’ effectiveness. TCSC was recently certified as a Digital Citizenship School, as well as receiving a Digital Learning Grant and Lilly Endowment Counseling Grant.
Special programs are in place at Tipton to assist students whether they are in need of remediation or acceleration in their studies, this includes a number of advanced placement/dual credit courses at Tipton High School. In addition to providing a quality academic program to students in kindergarten through grade 12, curricular offerings are enhanced through a variety of extra-curricular offerings in academics, vocational, fine arts, and athletics. Tipton students excel in sports, award winning bands and choirs, FFA, and community activities providing a broad range of activities and experiences. Beginning with the 2017-2018 school year, Tipton High School will offer seniors the opportunity to earn a Work Ethic Certificate along with their diploma.
A one-to-one computer initiative is offered to students at Tipton Intermediate, Tipton Middle, and Tipton High Schools. Students in grades kindergarten through second have access to iPad mobile labs for each grade level. Technology becomes more important as Tipton schools continue to incorporate STEM Education (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) in the classrooms.
Tipton schools are completing a major renovation project to enhance the facilities beginning with the 2017-2018 school year. In addition, Tipton schools enjoy a state-of-the-art auditorium, swimming pool, nature center, and an upgraded Planetarium.
