Parent Survey

parent-survey
TCSC is preparing for its upcoming AdancED accreditation review (2018-2019).  As part of that review, TCSC is seeking input from parents.  Parents received an email from the school corporation asking them to complete the Climate & Culture Survey.  If you have not yet completed this survey, please take a few minutes to do so. The information will be very helpful as we continue to work together for student success.

Nov. 2 - Planetarium: Circumpolar Constellations

Doc25-b
The Tipton Planetarium will be conducting a program on Circumpolar Constellations beginning at 6:00 PM on Thursday, November 2. This program is open to the public.  This program is suitable for grades 4 and through adults. Younger children will not find the program entertaining. The Tipton Planetarium is located in Tipton Middle School, across from the entrance to the gymnasium. Seating is limited, so please make your reservation using this google form: Planetarium Reservation

In astronomy, the circumpolar constellations are constellations that never set from the viewer's perspective. Circumpolar constellations stay in the sky.

Because of the rotation of the Earth and its orbit around the Sun, stars and constellations are divided into two groups. Some stars and constellations never rise nor set, and they are called circumpolar. All the rest are divided into seasonal stars and constellations. Which stars and constellations will be circumpolar and in which season depends on your latitude. In the northern hemisphere, we will always be able to see stars and constellations in the northern circumpolar sky.

Circumpolar constellations are visible year round.  Come and learn about the circumpolar constellations in our night sky that include Ursa Major, Ursa Minor, Draco, Cepheus, Cassiopeia and we may also talk about Orion.

Sept 8 - Cheerleaders Helping

21272569_910820815738764_2492349019502999612_n
Want to lend some assistance to the many people who were impacted by Hurricane Harvey? The Tipton & Heights cheerleaders will be teaming up with the football teams this Friday night (Sept 8) to collect donations to send to Houston. The donations will go to Aldine School Corporation...this school system was heavily impacted by the hurricane. Cheerleaders will also be accepting new school supplies to send to Aldine students/teachers. This is a wonderful opportunity for the Tipton & Hamilton Heights Communities to come together to support another school system (1,000 miles away) who has experienced the unimaginable. Coming to the game Friday night? Please consider donating.  Can’t make it to the game?  Contact Tipton High School to see how you can help.
