From the Tipton Planetarium:

The Geminid Meteor Shower will take place December 13.  This is the year's most prolific show, with up to 120 meteors per hour visible from rural skies, the moon is essentially out of the picture.
This pre-Christmas display of celestial fireworks (starting about 9:00 PM) will reach its peak (about 2:00 AM) during the long, dark hours from Wednesday night (Dec. 13) into early Thursday morning (Dec. 14).

More information about the Geminid Meteor Shower can be found at Sky and Telescope and Space.com

Toys for Tots

Toys-For-Tots-Logo
Band Director, Mr. Fletcher, reports that this last week's Toys for Tots concert was a big success.  But we still have boxes to fill.  If you would like to donate a new, unwrapped toy please drop it off at the high school's office.

Toys for Tots is a program run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve which distributes toys to children whose parents cannot afford to buy them gifts for Christmas. The program was founded in 1947 by reservist Major Bill Hendricks.
