April 14 - Ford's 4ur School

The Tipton High School Boys Soccer team has been given a great opportunity for a fundraiser with Tipton Ford.  The Ford Drive 4ur School fundraiser is free and easy!  All you have to do is come test drive a brand new Ford in front of Tipton High School on Saturday, April 14 between 10 am and 2 pm.  For every test drive around the “block,” Ford will give the boys soccer team $20.  The more that come, the better!!!   Oh, and the first 100 people to come test drive get a free fountain drink at South Pole.  There is absolutely no pressure to buy, all you have to do is take a little drive!

Thank you so much from the Boys Soccer team players!

April 11 - Planetarium Show

Join us on Wednesday, April 11 at 6:00 PM for the Planetarium Show - Greek and Roman Myths and Legends.

Most ancient cultures saw pictures in the stars of the night sky. Observing the heavens, they saw the lion, the bull, and the scorpion in the stars. The constellations as we know them today are undoubtedly very different from those first few. By far, though, we owe the greatest debt to the mythology of the ancient Greeks and Romans.

Mythology, of course, influenced the naming of many objects in the night sky, not just the constellations. The planets all bear names from Roman mythology which reflect
their characteristics.

Come hear and learn about some of these legends and how they have become immortalized in the night sky. Also, learn about their relationship with today’s Zodiac.

To reserve your seat, please register at: https://goo.gl/forms/SGfwPXN3p5oI1Or72 or call the school's office at 675-2147.  Presentations to groups can also be arranged by contacting the school.

Severe Weather Preparedness Week

March 18-24 is Severe Weather Preparedness Week in Indiana. From the National Weather Service, the goal of Severe Weather Preparedness Week is to better educate people about the hazards of severe thunderstorms and tornadoes and to help everyone be prepared when severe weather occurs.

Tipton schools will join others throughout the state as the NWS conducts a statewide test of communication systems (state-wide tornado drill) on Tuesday, March 20 at 10:15 AM.

Parents are urged to talk with their children about what to do in the event of severe weather while at home.  The NWS has more information in their Preparedness Week brochure.  They also have available a kid's activity booklet that can be downloaded by clicking here.

More information about Indiana's Severe Weather Preparedness Week can be found at the following website: https://www.weather.gov/ind/SvrWxWeek2018
